luminescent pigments

textile print collection

Luminescent Pigments, explores the biological microscopic habitat with organic and neon aspects. This concept was initially built from my interest in biology, as I have always been absorbed into the imagery of microscopic cells. My prints are built from a series of watercolour paintings and line drawings that shape through the manipulation of layering and transparency. The staged environments is also created based upon the movement and fluidity of colour.

While experimenting this collection through digital print, the japanese habotai silk displayed my work best as it allowed movement while retaining the vibrant colours. As I finalised this collection, I was approached to work alongside with Fashion Designer, Liesel Carnie. This involved collaborating my textile collection "Luminescent Pigments" with Liesel's beach inspired collection.
